A Gentle Guide for Trauma Recovery
Mindfulness and journaling are two of the most effective tools for emotional healing, but they can also feel intimidating to start. This journal makes both approachable by giving you a clear, supportive structure to follow.
You don’t need to know how to meditate or write the “right” thing. Each page guides you step-by-step, helping you build confidence in both practices at the same time.

I'm a compassionate, single Midwest mom with two teen daughters and an adorable dog named, Vida. My heart finds joy in the simple pleasures of life: spending time outdoors, cooking delicious meals for loved ones, and the inspiring beauty of trees; pine trees are a favorite.
I know the challenges of anxiety, depression, and PTSD personally. Growing up with a substance-abusing father and marrying someone with similar issues caused complex trauma. Leaving that marriage allowed me the space and perspective to understand and heal. Now, I am dedicated to sharing the practices that helped me transform my life.
With nearly thirty years of experience as a registered nurse and nurse educator specializing in sexual health, I've honed my skills in direct patient care and therapeutic communication. Engaging in intimate, therapeutic conversations with patients about navigating their relationships and sexual & mental health has been a cornerstone of my career. My diverse roles have included training medical staff both individually and in classroom settings, equipping them to provide quality, compassionate care.
My journey is further enriched by certifications in Trauma-Informed Leadership, TOP Group Facilitation Methods, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis problem-solving, enabling me to lead individuals and groups through complex challenges. With a passion for mental health, underscored by a bachelor’s degree in psychology, I am driven by a desire to help individuals from varied backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, abilities, and cultures. My extensive experience in health care, clinical quality assurance, and compliance programs highlights my commitment to ethical standards.
I believe in creating environments where everyone feels respected and empowered to overcome their mental health challenges and lead fulfilling lives. My mission is to educate about scientifically backed practices to help individuals struggling with mental health, life, and relationship issues. My purpose is to guide you toward healing from trauma and toxic relationships, enabling you to lead a more joyful and fulfilling life.

Response: This journal doesn't require perfection or eloquence. It's a safe space where you can jot down thoughts, doodle, or simply capture feelings without judgment. The practice of mindfulness and journaling is about connecting with yourself, not about creating polished poetry. I encourage readers to embrace truth and healing over originality.
Myth 3: "Mindfulness and journaling won't help with my specific issues."
Response: Scientific studies support the benefits of mindfulness and journaling for a wide range of mental health concerns. The exercises are versatile and can be adapted to address individual needs.
Myth 4: "I need to be in a good mental state to start using this journal."
Response: The Mindful Healing Journal is a tool that can be used whether you're feeling regulated or dysregulated. Some of my most valuable journaling moments occurred when I was dysregulated, helping me understand and process intense emotions. The journal offers grounding techniques and gentle actions to support you through challenging times.
